With a background in industrial engineering and experience as a packaging specialist in the food and DIY industries, Tessa is all about precision and reliability. At Topa Thermal, she is one of the experts responsible for the design and qualification of thermal packaging. Tessa ensures that our thermal systems meet the required temperature ranges and are ready for real-life use, protecting our customers’ temperature-sensitive products.

For Tessa, the key to success is thorough testing and documentation. She works closely with the Topa Institute design and mechanical testing teams, as well as colleagues in Topa Thermal, to ensure our systems are optimised and efficient. As part of the thermal testing team, she helps enhance our pre-qualified Connex GEO thermal packaging lines. She also works on qualifying custom Connex YOU systems ensuring our solutions are innovative and reliable, meeting the unique needs of each client.

With the challenges of climate change and global healthcare equality, Tessa believes everyone has a role to play. She is proud to contribute to solutions that not only ensure product safety but also promote sustainability through the use of recyclable materials and efficient designs.

What Tessa enjoys most about working at Topa Thermal is the hands-on approach and the ability to make quick adjustments during real-time tests. The anticipation of seeing test results and knowing that her work positively impacts healthcare distribution is what drives her.

In her free time, Tessa enjoys yoga and Pilates, cooking and baking (especially homemade pasta and pizza), and maintaining her vegetable garden. She finds the process of growing a seed into a dish ingredient very rewarding.

“Having the test equipment in-house allows me to follow the process in real-time and make quick adjustments if necessary. This hands-on approach ensures our products meet the highest standards and are ready to protect our customers’ valuable pharmaceutical products.”

My Favourite Innovator

Marie Skłodowska Curie. The first woman to win a Nobel Prize and one of only two people to win in different fields. Her scientific discoveries and humanitarian work during the First World War, including developing radiology cars to help wounded soldiers, make her a significant figure. “You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for our own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity.”
