In her role as Senior Key Account Manager, Ellie Backner combines pharmaceutical experience and knowledge with an educational background that includes emergency medicine, gerontology and business. This gives Ellie a unique perspective, with first-hand insight of the challenges the pharma industry faces today.
Ellie also understands the real issues faced by people waiting for drug treatments and has personal experience of when expensive and life-saving medicines don’t arrive on time or in a perfectly protected condition.
As Senior Key Account Manager and part of our thermal packaging sales team, Ellie works closely and cooperatively with our clients to identify their unique needs and distribution challenges. Whether these are reducing costs, reducing waste, making air freight efficiencies, or helping with pre-qualification she is determined and driven to achieve the right solution.
For Ellie, it’s important to always put the customer in the centre and likes how Topa Thermal works proactively as a team, to ensure processes, products and services work effectively. “Working together is not just a statement for us. We have an open communication – we support and consult with each other all the time.”
Outside of work, Ellie likes to spend time hiking with her family, travelling and exploring new places….. and new foods – she likes to try everything, everywhere!
“It’s not just about delivering a thermal packaging solution. I know first-hand that at the end of the day there is a person or baby who is sick and is relying on that drug, medicine or blood to be in place, and in the right condition.”
My Favourite Innovator
For me, one of the innovators I most admire is Angela Merkel, the first female Chancellor of Germany – and a scientist. During her tenure as Chancellor, she was frequently referred to as the most powerful woman in the world. Yet despite her power and success, she remained modest and down to earth.
